BioKC Roadmap
BioKC platform is in constant development and its roadmap foresees support for defining and annotation of complexes, and handling of SBML extensions such as the Multistate and Multicomponent species package.
Supporting a wider range of text-mining knowledge bases and model repositories is essential for BioKC’s commitment with interoperability.
With our work we aim to ease research collaboration providing features to review the curation process and quality control the annotation of supporting evidence. Thus, eventually reducing the time and effort needed to build the models.
Current priorities
- Facilitate the import of supporting evidence from third party sources.
- Improve SBML model importing to support different kind of annotations.
- We are currently working to provide public stable identifiers for facts via identifiers.org.
- Provide user statistic about inter annotator agreement performance. This way we can rate users by how well it performed on its assigned tasks based on the completion quorum and the upvotes/downvotes provided by the other group users.
Interoperability plan
- Convert exported SBML to other formats thanks to MINERVA API [ref].
- Integrate with Reactome.
- Support for BioModels Parameters [ref].
Long term objectives
- Improve fact editing concurrency by using websockets.
